Play Group

Our play group is small, but we have a great time! These are pictures at our closest park. Kacie and Jacen are in the first picture. They just love sitting on this climbing structure.

Then Jacen on his favorite the swings!! He can never have enough swings!

Jacen getting all wet :) I am so glad his friend Matthew showed him how to do it. They are naturals! We are so glad we have this park in the next city over. It takes us about 10 minutes to get there. Totally worth it for all this fun! (I do have to say it is much smaller than "Rexburg's Splash Park". Wish we got to play at that one! )

Yard Work

This is what our whole back yard looked like in May. Yuck huh!! Well Scott had talked about working in the yard together a couple of hours a day in July. I thought he was nuts! July?? In July it is hot.

So I decided that I would take Jacen out in the mornings and get started. I didn't tell Scott about my plan. It was going so well that I decided I would work extra hard to get it done by Father's Day. It would be our gift to Scott.

This is how far I got by June 9th. I had little blisters on my hands and Scott asked that I wait for him to help me. I made a deal, I will stop if you help me Friday and Saturday morning so we can have it done. He was excited to get his hands in the work.

Scott's last day of school was June 13th. Here we are getting the last bit done :) Do you see Scott in the picture. That will give you an idea of the size we are talking about. Our whole lot is nearly a 1/2 acer.

This is a picture of a desert tool, called a hula hoe. I had never heard of one either, so no worries! You run it back and forth and it picks up all the weeds. Then you go back and rake it all up. This was much faster with 2 people, as you could imagine. Scott used the hula hoe and I raked.

Here is our finished project. It will take awhile to get rid of all the piles. We only have one trash can. We are so glad that we only have to spend time each week filling our trash can. It is too hot to work any harder than that out there.

May

On May 3rd Scott and I were chaperones for the High School Prom. It was held at the Palm Springs Convention Center, and was beautiful. Scott actually got to help the Junior Class with all the planning. Kids had a wonderful time and couldn't stop talking about it.

The very next day we boarded a plane to New Hampshire. My sister, Aimee, and Scott's brother, Charles (yep they are married), went to Greece for a get away. Left behind were their four kids. We came in the for the last week to watch the kiddos. We went from one child to five in a matter of seconds. We had a great time and Jacen loved playing with his cousins. We also overlapped with Aimee and Charles for some visiting time.

Jacen looking out the plane window.
He really loves to fly.
The cousins: Tye, Jacen, Holden, and Cherie (Chase was still at school)

We returned home on May 11th, Scott was back to work the 12th. On Saturday, May 17th Jill Tennies got baptized. Her husband preformed the baptism. The following day she was confirmed and they blessed their daughter Kaitlyn.

The high school had their last play of the year from May 19th-24th. Scott does a great job directing these plays. This one was called, "The People vs. Maxine Lowe". My parents were able to come up and see the play and spend a couple of days. It was fun to have them here.

Then a party for my nephew, Kale, on Memorial Day. It was supposed to be a pool party but the weather decided differently. While at the party we took a picture of us sisters and my mom. Which one do you think I look most like?? For real!!
Crystal, Darcy, My Mom, Me, and Blythe. Holly and Aimee are not in this picture :( Come on, click on the picture so it is really big and decide who it is I look like!

Then May 29th Robert Andrus came to visit us. He is a friend of ours that is currently living in Utah. Scott had him come to school with him as a "Special Guest". Andrus is in 3 movies that are coming out soon. One of which is with Scott, "Dead Noon", due to come out to video in October.
And that is May in a nut shell!!

April--yep you read that right!!

Let me start off with a story. Right before we went to Utah for Spring Break, a friend of ours told me that she wanted to start meeting with the missionaries again. I was trilled. I didn't ask her if she was going to call them, or if she wanted me to relay the message...nothing. On our drive home Scott receives a text (for those of you wondering...we still don't do texts...they cost us $$). Anyway, it says "Jill has a meeting with the missionaries tomorrow night". We were so excited. But it wasn't until later that we learned, that they came to her. They knocked on her door, knowing it was a part member family that lived there. When she answered they thought she was the member. (You have to know Jill, she knows all the Mormon lingo, it's great). So as you can imagine the missionaries were led to her, in response to her desire. So needless to say every Thursday became booked as we had dinner and a discussion with the Elders and the Tennies. It was so great to be part of those discussions.

Also in April, my parents, sister Darcy, and niece Siena came up for a day visit. Then Scott's parents came to visit for a few days. We love having company!! (come on down!!)

Why are there no pictures you ask?? Well because somehow I managed to only take pictures one day this whole month!! And that was at Improv! (Scott is advisor over the improvisational troupe here at the high school. You know like "Whose line"! They do an awesome job. The preform in the library on campus.) The first picture is two of the troupe members entertaining Jacen (or Jacen was entertaining them, not sure which) before the show began. The other is a picture of the troupe.

You know it has been a long time when...

I now realize how long it has been since I have been away from Blogs...and here are some clues from you guys:

1- Receiving comments such as these,
Um... *ahem* Is this thing on?
Ok...so...do you KNOW how long ago Spring Break was???
You have to have Something to blog about!!! It's summer...and you have a stinkin' cute little boy! There...now you were reminded of 2 reasons to do a post!!!!
Where are you?!

2- I am trying to catch up on all of you, and I am having to click "older posts" to catch up :(

3- I remembered my sister-in-law tagged me awhile back. I had to search her blog for it. It was back on May 5th and I still have not done it (although my sister Holly was tagged and well I don't remember her doing it either! And she is like blogging queen!).

List of "Friends and Family"

Okay so first things first!! I just added a "friends and family" list on my sidebar. If your information is not there, please let me know. I am sure I have missed some. We have a new computer so it is aways fun moving everything over :) I will now be using those links to read up on everyones life...so if you are not there, PLEASE let me know!

Spring Break

For Spring Break we went up to Utah. We had so much fun! Here are some pictures from our fun escape!

First stop was St. George (well Washington), Utah. We had planned on seeing our friends the Lawthers (our friends form Rexburg) for a Saturday morning....but that turned into a day when we found out that my aunts were going to be out of town. We had such a blast. We got to take Jacen to his first Easter Egg Hunt!
ss
I forgot to pack him a basket (we were bound to forget something)...and so I sent Scott and Paka off on a scavenger hunt to find one (without a car...heaven forbid we should lose our parking space). The Egg Hunt was total ciaos. Jacen didn't even get a chance to use his basket. A lady saw it empty and threw some candy in it for him. It was crazy...I tried taking pictures of Makaio and this is the best I could get. Next time Mandy won't have me take pictures for her scrapbook...that's for sure!
You can't even tell what kid is hers!!

Here are the boys showing off their baskets of candy.

We also got a chance to see a house that Paka is building and the land that they are going to build their home on. It will be exciting to see the house when it is all finished!!
Here is a picture of Mandy and I...Paka escaped back to work before we thought to take a picture. Next time we will be sure to get a picture of all of us :)

[Okay, now like any picture taking event..it starts off really good, because you have to blog about it...but it always declines before your vacation ends. Which is probably a good thing since this post is long enough :)]

Day 2: Next stop, Payson, Utah to see the Moser Family (Scott's sister Denise's family) for Easter.

The kids dying their eggs, and Jacen coloring on his before placing it in a color.

And the final product. He was so excited, here he is talking to his daddy about it.

The Egg Hunt outside....Jacen really got the hang of it, but he hated touching the grass. It was so funny. Kids need grass...we need to move!!

Jacen tried to convince us that we needed a piano. Just look at that happy face. He could have spent every second on that piano!

s
Day 3: Then it was off to the Training Table with my family.

the kids and then the adults. Crystal and Michael were in town from Alpine, California (in the middle), and then Joey and Richelle. Total we had 9 kids...but one sat with the adults :)

Next stop Cabela's, where we all met up with Holly (my sister) and Damon...now raising the total number of kids to 12.

The kids loved that we let them run around in the carts...here are some of the kids.

And our most recent family photo:

Day 4: We visited the Bear's (some friends of Scott's from before we were married...but I claim them too)

and the Jofee's (our friends, from Rexburg and Chicago).

Day 5: To the Barney's (Scott's sister Tekoa)

s
s
and then to the Kober's (Scott's sister Treana)

We got to go look at their house that is being built. It was fun to see it in the process. Here are some pictures of Jacen with the animals. Katelyn and Jacen are playing with the dogs through the fence. Then Uncle Phil put Jacen on the horse...he didn't like that so much. He cried until we let him back by the dogs.

Day 6: Run errands....spend lots of money at Mervyn's huge sale!!

Day 7: Go see the Elmers (my friend, Eliza, from Encinitas). We first met up at a new kid restaurant called Max and Cheese and then over to their house for some extended playtime for Jacen and Annie.

(I love this picture, I just imagine Annie saying, "now, mom that was a great idea for me to get in here, but he can't even push me". She just looks so bummed out!)

Day 9: To Vegas we go! Grandpa Dauenhauer here we come!

s
Day 10: Attend sacrament in Vegas Spend more time with Grandpa before heading home. Here Jacen is chillin in the back seat.

We arrived home Sunday just an hour to spare before our Home Teaching appointment.
(Now, did you notice I never put any dates?? this all happened over a month ago....oh well...I bet Easter gave it away...there you have it, our 10 day Spring Break, in a nut shell.)
